A solid rapper and freestyler, an eclectic and complete artist, a leading figure of the 93 scene alongside Vald, Sadek, DA Uzi and Kalash Criminel, a sure bet in French rap, Hornet la Frappe has built up a certain status with all his projects, all certified: Nous-mêmes (Platinum-certified), Dans les yeux (Platinum-certified), Ma Ruche (Gold-certified) and most recently Toujours nous-mêmes (Gold-certified). All these successes have allowed him to be considered today as one of the big names in the French rap landscape. With such foundations, combined with the impact brought by his current notoriety, there is no doubt about the excitement around each release from the rapper from Epinay-sur-Seine. Very discreet after the release of his last album in the summer of 2021 and throughout 2022, Hornet La Frappe still gave his fans a few tracks at the beginning of 2023; tracks that seemed to be the beginnings of his future project. Driven by big tracks (“Allo ?! C'est les cités” and “La Peuf 6”), this new mixtape will undoubtedly be one of the rap successes of late 2023, bringing together the cream of today’s beatmakers: Ken & Ryu (Dinos, Koba LaD, Lacrim), Baille Broliker (PNL, Booba, Maes), Flem (Freeze Corleone, Gazo), Therapy 2093 (Kaaris, Booba, Niro), Shiruken Music (Gazo, Tiakola, Ninho) and Josh Rosinet (Dosseh, PLK, Shay). This new 100% solo project, titled “Avant les cités d'or”, aims to be very ambitious and shows the artistic range Hornet La Frappe possesses today, while also announcing in an original way the upcoming arrival of his future album “Les cités d'or”.
