Old-school rap and sharp production, this new record is a true hip-hop gem, in the vein of "Beauty and the Beat." This release summarizes the meeting between the naive yet incisive rap of the prolific Homeboy Sandman and the beats of New York producer and DJ Edan. Their collaboration dates back several years, when Sandman, following a friend's advice, attended an Edan concert, which completely blew him away. This record marks Edan's first release in 13 years, since his masterpiece Beauty and the Beat, released in 2005, which at the time became a benchmark for all hip-hop fans. Meanwhile, MC Homeboy Sandman has released several albums in recent years, on the Stone Throw label, including a double EP with American rapper Aesop Rock.
