Place 54

Description

Platform No. 2, Car 17, you are about to embark on a musical journey, a direct link between hip hop, soul and funk. After the 20,000 copies of 73 Touches sold and 2 years of nonstop touring, which earned them a licensing deal with Universal/Motown, 20SYL and his group HOCUS POCUS, the French pioneers of rap with instruments, return with the highly anticipated new album PLACE 54. 20SYL, as sound architect and conductor, makes a clear artistic shift here while remaining faithful to the Hip Hop spirit. Place 54 contains a natural diversity of musical identities where soul blends joyfully with funk, which meets African music and does not forget jazz. Thanks to cinematic writing and like a subjective camera, we experience each scene as if we were sitting beside him. Among the top-class guests is the talented British singer OMAR, admired by STEVIE WONDER, who collaborates on the delightful "Smile," a soul gem with an irresistible groove, the album’s first single. We also find the cult trombonist FRED WESLEY, co-founder of the JB's, on the track "Recyclé". MAGIK MALIK, star of the most contemporary jazz scene, brings all his class through his flute playing on several tracks. Like the tens of thousands of fans, don’t miss the Hocus Pocus train, Place 54 is reserved for you to discover them.
