Description

A year after "Voilà", Hoazin's first collection, "Nyama" will be released in June 2025 by Soon Enough Records (distributed by Kuroneko), both digitally and physically. For the Dogon people of Mali, nyama refers to a mysterious and vital power that flows between living beings, connecting plants, animals, humans, and spirits. Hoazin's compositions, the result of precise arrangements following long improvisation sessions, draw inspiration from 70s psychedelic rock as well as afrobeat, electro, and jazz. Deeply visual, their music draws from cinema and surrealism, offering immersive and dreamlike narratives that invite the audience to travel into soundscapes conducive to both reflection and letting go.
