Description

My encounter with the temperate rainforest of Hoh, located in the heart of Olympic National Park across from Seattle Bay, gave me the impression of discovering an entirely new world for the very first time. Long green fronds draped the branches, creating a setting where one might have heard fairies whispering to one another. Yet, when one tries to listen, no sound reaches the ear. In the midst of this mysterious silence, where neither birds nor insects make a sound, every living being seemed to have frozen, ready to come alive for a dance at the slightest spell. — Hiroshi Yoshimura
