Description

Hint is an Angers-based duo made up of Hervé Thomas (samplers, keyboards, bass, vocals, accordion, flute) and Arnaud Fournier (guitar, trumpet, saxophone, vocals, shouts). In three albums, the duo opened the way in France for an entire scene that did not hesitate to mix rock, noise, dub, hardcore, electro, world...: from Ez3kiel to NLF3, via Lab° and Picore, to name the best of them. The band underwent a profound transformation from album to album, but always knew how to keep that thirst for experimentation and sonic exploration. 100% IINCANDESCENT 93-99 Composed of classics, B-sides, live tracks and other unreleased cuts, 93/99 draws the best from Hint by going through their entire discography. In two CDs and no fewer than 32 tracks, this compilation presents itself as a retrospective anthology of the band and its various releases: three albums (100% White Puzzle, Dys- and Wu-Wei), a remix LP (Product Topology), several split EPs and numerous collaborations (with Unsane, Portobello Bones, Bästards and Daunik Lazro). Between atmospheric and cinematic moods (“100% White Puzzle”, “Limitless Space”, “Wu-Wei”), dissonant and passionate expressions (“Eyes In Axis”, “Flexible”, “Ionizer”), 93/99 takes the listening experience through a range of emotions. From anguish to fullness, passing through rage and introspection, the feelings are multiple and shifting, revealing in Hint a sensitivity
