The new album from the new soul sensation! The four artists of the Melbourne-based group Hiatus Kaiyote are already considered the soul group of the future, offering a unique experience to the listener. Their music cannot be limited to a single predefined genre: a fusion of jazz, hip-hop, electro, rock and soul. Their second album "Choose your Weapon", following their EP "By Fire" (and 3 sold-out Paris concerts in 2014), features 18 tracks, a 70-minute journey through the group’s atypical musical universe. "Choose your Weapon" was conceived on the road during the world tour for the previous album "Tawk Tomahawk". The sincere, husky voice of singer-guitarist Nai Palm blends perfectly with an effective, highly groovy rhythm section: Paul Bender on bass and Perrin Moss on drums, not forgetting Simon Marvin on keyboards. “Making an album is like tearing your soul apart and then putting the pieces back together, but improved, with glitter, lasers, or exotic animals,” explains Nai Palm about Choose your Weapon. “There is a lot of juxtaposition on this album, but if you do it with your heart, it tends to work perfectly,” she concludes. The first album had already gathered glowing comments on social media from: Prince, Gilles Peterson, Erykah Baddy, Taylor Mc Ferrin, Pharell Williams, Questlove, and many others. "Choose you Weapon" is unquestionably in the same vein, and will once again win over all fans of the genre.
