Description

HERON OBLIVION, the band of Meg Baird (Espers), which she shares with Charles Sauffley (Assemble Head in Sunburst Sound), Noel von Harmonson (Comets on Fire, Six Organs of Admittance, Sic Alps, The Lowdown) and Ethan Miller (Comets on Fire), presents its self-titled debut album. Formed in 2013 in the San Francisco Bay Area, the Californian band is bound by an inexhaustible love for the sixties-seventies era, rock-folk, noise, and Japanese underground bands. HERON OBLIVION blends composition and improvisation, English folk and West Coast psych that bristles with feedback and explosive dissonance. The elements merge into one another beneath an avalanche of guitars from which Meg Baird’s sublime and flawless voice emerges. After touring alongside Kurt Vile and Cass McCombs, one can only imagine a promising future for this band with an already well-established psychedelic pedigree.
