Description

Created in 2014 by James McBain, Hellripper quickly established itself with an explosive blend of black metal and thrash inspired by bands like Venom, Kreator, or Metallica. After several notable releases, the project reached a new dimension with Warlocks Grim & Withered Hags, its third studio album released in 2023. More ambitious and personal, the album blends epic blackened metal anthems, blazing solos, and extreme energy, while drawing inspiration from the landscapes, legends, and darkest aspects of Scottish folklore. References to clan history and macabre tales like that of Sawney Bean reinforce the occult and savage atmosphere of the record. Entirely written and recorded by James McBain, Warlocks Grim & Withered Hags marked a major turning point in Hellripper's rise on the international metal scene.
