Old school riffs and hyperspeed solos have earned HELLRIPPER the reputation of being one of the UK's best heavy metal bands. Inspired by legends such as VENOM, KREATOR, BLACK SABBATH and METALLICA, James McBain formed HELLRIPPER in 2014. Following the release of the debut EP "The Manifestation of Evil" and first album "Coagulating Darkness" in 2017, the EP "Black Arts & Alchemy" was released. "The Affair of the Poisons" was recorded and mixed by McBain himself and mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege (Obituary, Midnight, Nails). The album title itself is taken from a 17th-century murder and witchcraft scandal, with a cover inspired by Skadvaldur.
