HEILUNG is a band that doesn't just play concerts, they perform rituals. Christopher Juul, Maria Franz, Kai Uwe Faust, and their Nordic collective transcend the audience with guttural hymns, tribal rhythms, subtle electronic textures, a hypnotic light show, an army of warriors, and pyrotechnic explosions. And what better place on Earth than Red Rocks to experience such an ancestral ritual? This world-renowned venue – located near Denver, Colorado, and nestled between two sandstone massifs – once hosted indigenous tribes. When HEILUNG performed there in October 2021, the group integrated this history by inviting Native Americans to join the prayer that opens all their rituals. "Remember that we are all brothers. All people, beasts, trees, stones, and wind. We all descend from one great being." What followed was a night no one would forget.
