The Cycle

Description

Formed in 2007 in Saint Etienne, HEAVYLUTION got its start with the release of 2 first EPs (“Metal Is Our Blood” & “The Architect”). With the release of its first album “CHILDREN OF HATE” in 2015, HEAVYLUTION won over many Heavy Metal fans in France and beyond its borders. Numerous club shows, festivals, and several prestigious opening slots have enabled the band to build a solid reputation live and to unleash its powerful, melodic heavy metal across all corners of France. After a few years away, HEAVYLUTION is finally back on stage in 2025 to defend its new album “THE CYCLE”. HEAVYLUTION IS BACK ! With this second album, THE CYCLE, Heavylution continues to assert its identity by developing a refined heavy metal, melodic, and at times aggressive, heightening the intensity of the songs. The album opens with a concept, through a saga of 4 opening tracks inspired by ASIMOV’s Foundation Cycle, then continues with songs each revealing a different influence of the band: a very melodic Rain Of lies, a more aggressive Deadly Science leaning toward heavy-speed-thrash, The Earth Will Remain and its classic heavy in the vein of Priest, Maiden or Firewind, and Shepherds of Fear embracing a thrash verse contrasting with its harmonized chorus. The choruses, harmonies and solos follow one another, and the vocals, still strongly inspired by genre classics such as Dickinson and Halford, also reveal a broader range of intentions than on the previous album, like the final ballad Travel for Life, which is sure to surprise after such a dense album.
