Since 2017, Emmanuelle Dauvin, like Nicolaus Bruhns at the end of the seventeenth century, has been playing the violin while accompanying herself on the organ pedalboard - this is the Baroque UFO: a spectacular but forgotten practice. With soprano Heather Newhouse, she created the program Cantata a 2: a journey through arias and instrumental pieces for soprano, violin and bass by J.S. Bach, to be rediscovered in an unprecedented arrangement. The arias appear there in the balance of a trio sonata, one of whose parts carries a text. The sobriety of this duo trio reveals an unexpected fullness.
