“Rise from the Ashes” marks both the band’s return to the forefront and the arrival of two new members bringing a fresh burst of energy. David Vallée (guitar - backing vocals) and Antoine Cadot (drums) join Sébastien Pierre (vocals), David Rocha (guitar) and Romain Neveu (bass) to form this new lineup, even stronger and more rock-oriented. Headcharger is taking advantage of this new momentum to write collectively. The result is all the more cohesive and powerful. “Rise from the Ashes” is the perfect bridge between “The End Starts Here” from 2011 and “Hexagram” released in 2017. An album as dark as it is bright, with its singer drawing inspiration from the personal trials he has gone through in recent years before emerging from them both stronger and more alive than ever. Introspection before blossoming... before the explosion. Listening to “Magical Ride” as the opening track perfectly illustrates this point, grabbing you from the very first seconds and never letting go. Welcome to a journey marked by saturation and catchy choruses. Ten songs delivered with fervor, never easing up, on which the band makes no secret of its boundless love for groups like Foo Fighters (the main riff of “My Chains”) or Soundgarden (listening to “Death Sound” evokes the best of “Superunknown” by the Seattle band).
