Trillium is Harold Danko's third album to draw from the sources of "The Rite Of Spring" by Stravinsky, undoubtedly one of the most influential pieces of music of the 20th century. Danko then let this unique trio with Perry (tenor saxophone) and Knuffke (cornet) execute the compositions to perfection.
Danko attended Youngstown State University. His credits include work in the big bands of Woody Herman and Thad Jones / Mel Lewis, as well as smaller ensembles with Gerry Mulligan, Chet Baker, and Lee Konitz. He often worked with Rich Perry in the 1990s and also played with Rufus Reid, Kirk Lightsey, Jeff Hirshfield, Edward Simon, and Gregory Herbert.
