Music for special organs

" The organs played by Hans Eugen Frischknecht on this CD are extraordinary and unique instruments. He wrote his compositions specifically for these instruments, transforming the sound and characteristic capabilities of each of them into a main feature of each piece. Among these "special organs," there are two quarter-tone organs, one tuned in mesotonic temperament with split tips and two prototypes from the INOV-ORGAN-UM research project. On these last organs, it is possible to adjust the air pressure, even after pressing the keys, to create variations in volume and even pitch of the notes. |||| Hans Eugen Frischknecht has traveled to many countries as an organist, often playing his own works. He studied with Boris Blacher and Michael Schneider, then with Olivier Messiaen in Paris."
