Description

No need to search for which pot the Allen brothers (Dave and Paul, vocals/guitar and vocals/bass), Stephen O'Brien (keyboards), and Steve Hogan (drums) fell into. These Dubliner originals from the U2 neighborhood create pop heavily inspired by the legendary American music of the '60s, West Coast style. While they are not exact copies, their vocal harmonies come straight from those crafted, in their time, by the Beach Boys and the Mamas & Papas (sort of references), and the rest follows suit. The falsetto of the voices driving songs like "Coming Right Over" thus recalls Brian Wilson but also Supertramp, while "Keep Love As Your Golden Rule" sounds like a fresh take on Neil Young. It is indeed here, or in this "Worry About The Wind" tribute to Rick Danko (The Band), that Hal, like The Rubinoos or Jellyfish before him, truly shines.
