Gwar will always be classified as an oddity from another world. Following a debut album with a strong Punk Rock feel, "Scumdogs Of The Universe" takes a Punk Hardcore bridge to join Thrash. But since GWAR never does things like everyone else, the band remains between the two styles without really choosing one in particular. We therefore get some very Thrashy riffing and more Hardcore rhythmic parts.
