Guillaume Lopez, a bearer of memory and border, mixes in each of his creations the Spain of his ancestors, the French poetry of his childhood, and the Occitan language of his birthplace. He is in a perpetual quest for musical bridges between world music, song, and improvised music.
Flutist and singer with a rooted and powerful voice, he has been seen on all the folk stages of Europe with Bal Brotto Lopez, at Jazz In Marciac surrounded by the Chemirani brothers, or regularly invited by Les Ogres de Barback since 2010. His company, created in 2009, is a true laboratory where musical styles blend and enrich each other. A wandering musician, in Europe, China, Georgia, the United States, Argentina, he has been inspired from all corners of the planet for over ten years. It is in Morocco that the Anda-Lutz project was born. A link between Toulouse, his birthplace, Granada, the city of his ancestors, and Agadir, the home port of percussionist Saïd El Maloumi.
After 15 years of musical complicity, Guillaume Lopez and accordionist Thierry Roques cross the Strait of Gibraltar to join in Agadir a long-time friend, percussionist Saïd el Maloumi. Jazz trumpeter Nicolas Gardel joins this deeply Mediterranean and authentic creation, at the crossroads of world music and jazz.
