The French composer Guillaume Connesson is one of the musicians whose music is very regularly played with great enthusiasm. His writing, thanks to an exceptional sense of rhythm and color, is in a very accessible language, even exhilarating, which earns him great success, particularly among younger generations. Born in 1970, Guillaume Connesson has won several prestigious awards including the Nadia & Lili Boulanger Prize, and the Sacem Prize. The program of this 2CD is the richest possible calling card of the composer's work: it indeed features his most beautiful chamber music pages, performed by the finest French soloists, including Eric Le Sage (piano), Paul Meyer (clarinet), Jerôme Pernoo (cello), Florent Héau (clarinet), and the Quatuor Parisii in particular. Some of these pieces had been released on disc but have not been available for a long time. They are happily found here, along with a whole CD that had not yet been commercially released.
