Les sauvages, harpsichords in pre-revolutionary Paris

Interesting program of 5 composers, all born between 1735 and 1750, from diverse backgrounds, but whose musical writing is specially dedicated to the harpsichord. Among the selected works is that of the French Jean-François Tapray (1738 or 39- c.1798), "Les Sauvages" (after Rameau), which includes 4 interesting variations, published around 1770, and which gives its name to the disc. Giulia Nutti is one of the great harpsichord interpreters of today. She holds a research position at the Conservatory of Italian Switzerland in Lugano. After a prestigious journey at the Royal College of Music in London, she teaches at the Music School of Fiesole near Florence. Recorded at the Museum of Ancient Instruments in Venice.
