Hindemith in Paris

Description

Paul Hindemith is among the most important German composers of the 20th century. His Sonata for Trombone and Piano - one of the many sonatas he composed for various instruments - is a work of great liveliness and virtuosity, performed here with an additional movement, Ruhig, taken from a sonata left unfinished before his forced exile. Hindemith's melodies, of refined simplicity, are performed alongside Poulenc's highly poetic Oboe Sonata, Koechlin's melancholic Trois Pièces, and excerpts from Ravel and Debussy, all specially arranged to showcase the exceptional talent of trombonist Guilhem Kusnierek.
