A first-rate virtuoso, Tartini was the violin teacher who most influenced the style of the 18th century. This is evidenced by his students, who came from all corners of the world to join the greatest European orchestras. Seeking through the violin an original language in both melody and harmony, Tartini best imitated the human voice by drawing inspiration from poetry and metrics, mirroring its melodic phrases. A worthy heir to Corelli, he went through different compositional phases dedicated to the search for absolute and natural music, getting closer to the soul of the people. His journey leaves behind a rich correspondence, surpassed only by Mozart. The general public may still be unaware of this unsuspected treasure: hundreds of his compositions are waiting to be brought to light.
