Four Flies is proud to present, in collaboration with Beat Records, the very first release of the soundtrack written in 1976 by Guido and Maurizio De Angelis for the legendary film Nico l'Arnaqueur (Squadra Antifurto), the second chapter of the comedy-tinged police saga directed by Bruno Corbucci and featuring Tomas Milian as the iconic Italian police marshal Nico Giraldi. Nearly 50 years after its theatrical release, the soundtrack composed by the De Angelis brothers is resurrected in its entirety. This album, like many others composed by the golden duo in the 1970s, contains elements of Italian folk tradition, especially from Rome. The main theme is a prog-funk excursion inspired by the traditional tarantella, but it reaches an irresistible energy thanks to a rock orchestration made up of psychedelic flutes, wild percussion, distorted electric guitars, piano chords, and various feedback and delay effects. For fans of Italian crime films, the De Angelis brothers, and Tomas Milian as Nico Giraldi.
