Never released before, this previously unheard concert is the last known live recording of Grant Green's career. Recorded on September 5, 1975, at Oil Can Harry’s, a popular club in Vancouver, Canada, for CHQM-FM radio, Slick! features Grant Green accompanied by his Detroit-based band formed by Emmanuel Riggins (father of drummer Karriem Riggins) on electric piano, Ronnie Ware on bass, Greg "Vibrations" Williams on drums, and Gerald Izzard on percussion. The centerpiece of this exceptional live performance will undoubtedly be the funk medley lasting over 30 minutes, including passages from iconic tracks such as ‘Vulcan Princess’ by Stanley Clarke, ‘Skin Tight’ by Ohio Players, ‘Woman’s Gotta Have It’ by Bobby Womack, ‘Boogie On Reggae Woman’ by Stevie Wonder, and ‘For The Love of Money’ by The O’Jays. Taken from the original tapes, this live recording promises exceptional sound quality for a recording from that era. Alongside Funk In France (W56972 – released on May 25, 2018), Slick! is only the 4th live release in Grant Green's discography.
