The first and solitary practitioners of punk cheerleader. The album 'Thunder, Lightning, Strike' by the band 'The Go! Team's' is an explosion of colors and energy that evokes images of high school sports, summer days in downtown areas, and the freedom of youth. The maximalist sound of the six musicians, with its two drums, choral chants, air-raid siren guitars, scratched records, and strong dominant melodies, made the album impossible to ignore upon its release in 2004. Recorded in the basement of Ian Parton's parents' house, the album retains its tangy rusticity despite its ambitious scope.
