Three years after Gommapiuma, GIORGIO POI returns on May 2nd with Schegge, his much-anticipated fourth album of unreleased tracks, to be released by Bomba Dischi/Sony Music.
Born from a period of profound transformation, Schegge gathers fragments of life and colliding emotions, translating them into a richly layered sound and a poetic and visionary narrative.
An album entirely written, performed, and produced by Giorgio between December 2022 and October 2024, recorded in Rome – his hometown, where he returned to live after 17 years of absence – with the friendly supervision of Laurent Brancowitz from Phoenix, an emblematic figure of the French music scene in recent decades and a long-time admirer of the Roman singer.
He will be accompanied on stage, as always, by Matteo Domenichelli on bass, Francesco Aprili on drums, and Benjamin Ventura on keyboards.
A highly anticipated return to the stage, following the successes and international recognition of recent years: from opening for Phoenix in Milan, Paris, and the United States, to a mini-Asian tour with concerts in Beijing, Tianjin, and Hong Kong, as well as Mexico City, where he opened for León Larregui, the historic leader of the band Zoé. Experiences that have nurtured Giorgio Poi's musical language, always balancing between Italy and the world.
