Description

It is a rare complicity that unites clarinetist Gianluigi Trovesi and accordionist Gianni Coscia. In the complex interplay of the duo, without the support of a rhythm section, the two companions work wonders, performing little melodies out of almost nothing that speak volumes, improvising on a knife-edge. Essayist Umberto Eco writes in the liner notes of the record: “Here then is a way to make cultured music popular and popular music cultured. So let us not ask ourselves in which temple to place the performances of Coscia and Trovesi. On the street corner or in a concert hall, they would feel at ease.”
