The meeting of two virtuoso musicians and their cultures that unite and confront Jean-Sébastien Bach. Argentine pianist Gerardo Jerez le Cam and Romanian violinist Marian Iacob Maciuca combine their cultures for the first time in a duo album, merging their strong musical traditions to engage with the repertoire of Jean-Sébastien Bach. This giant of musical creation, always driven by limitless curiosity, drew from European folk resources during his many travels. Based on this observation, the duo of musicians decided to approach the music of Jean-Sébastien Bach from a different perspective, revisiting it by exploring a path that aligns with the festive and popular spirit of the dances of Eastern European peoples. They thus connect with the tradition of the Tziganes musicians, who came from the East and have always managed to admirably blend different musical sources through their journeys. This unique encounter masterfully reveals the many possibilities of bridges between learned and popular music.
