Danny Elfman: Cello Concerto & Film Music - Vinyl

Description

For this new album, Gautier Capuçon immerses himself in the world of the legendary composer Danny Elfman with the first studio recording of his Cello Concerto. Written specifically for the French virtuoso and recorded in London with Lionel Bringuier and the BBC Concert Orchestra, this intense work combines technical virtuosity with a sense of melody. In the second part of the album, Gautier Capuçon explores the cinematic side of Danny Elfman through the arrangements of his long-time collaborator Jérôme Ducros, who accompanies him on piano. From the mystical Edward Scissorhands to the iconic themes of Spider-Man and The Nightmare Before Christmas, this album highlights the uniqueness and richness of such a personal and inventive composer.
