Ladi Dadi II/Gatefold

Description

The reference for this double EP is well known to hip hop fans: it’s 1985 - Doug E. Fresh and Slick Rick release the track "La Di da Di", which will become a classic of the genre and one of the most sampled songs in its history. This track, which sounds like a catchy refrain, is a perfect description of the singer’s rhythmic and melodic flow, who glides effortlessly over Mr Cole’s organic, warm beats. A near-perfect symbiosis can be felt here. Tinged with catchy choruses, the EP can be listened to without moderation. The mixing is based on the remix of the track "It's a boy" by Large Professor, released in 1994. Slick Rick’s laid-back, relaxed tone inspires the duo to slightly mix the voices into the background - a desire to harmonize all the elements of the EP for a smooth and almost uninterrupted listen from start to finish. The duo thus charms with its rhythmic and melodic poetry, pleasing to the ear, and endlessly replayable.
