The birth of the project: a tribute to four facets … - - ‘I was five, maybe six or seven, when I first heard that melody resonate … - - Full of mystery, subtly ethereal and carrying a melancholy as haunting as it is rejuvenating, it has never left me, constantly returning on the keys of my old Pleyel, surfacing faintly in some melody of a cheerful morning … - - It is high time to dedicate this New Breath to it, to offer you this long journey, inviting us to discover ‘THE MYSTERIOUS ISLAND’, a Space of Possibilities where Humanity relearns the Essential, the spirit of Solidarity, while taming itself, accepting all the Metamorphoses that occur within. - - Like a perfect pyramid, ‘THE MYSTERIOUS ISLAND’ is a tribute to four facets; of course, and first and foremost to the eponymous work of Jules Verne (1874-1875), but also and especially to the Friday of Michel Tournier (1967), which, in the interworld of the oceanic Limbo, brings us back to the fundamentals of the Human Person, to what the Self is within the We. - - It is also an ode to the film work of Jacques Champreux and Juan Antonio Bardem, whose six episodes brought to the screen in 1973 made my childhood eyes shine so brightly. Finally - and above all! - it is this Cry from the heart addressed to maestro Gianni Ferrio, the brilliant promoter of this original music, who, with the help of Christine Fontane (lyricist) and Monique Pianéa (performer), so lovingly let the muses speak.
