TRANSCESTRAL (vinyl)

Description

After several international tours, Fredy Massamba returns with a new album, which focuses on the trance we get from the joys of returning to ancestral roots. An album produced by Fredy Massamba, Didier Touch, Rodriguez Vangama, who was already part of his previous opus, and recorded between Yaoundé in Cameroon, Brussels, Paris and Montreal. These locations each brought their touch to the album, which navigates between hip-hop, soul, Congolese rumba and traditional Central African rhythms. It features the participation of artists from Africa, Europe and America such as Lokua Kanza (DRC), Ray Lema (DRC), Djely Tapa (Mali/Canada), Wandah (Congo), Suka Ntima (Belgium/Rwanda) and Funkis (Cameroon). BIO: Fredy Massamba was born in a working-class neighborhood of Pointe-Noire where traditional groups and Congolese rumba reigned. His love for music comes from his father. In 1991, he joined Les Tambours de Brazza and began a world tour with the legendary percussion group and has not stopped being on the road ever since. Fredy Massamba is known for his strong and powerful voice, his ability to touch hearts and especially his commitment to the defense of African languages. CAREER: Already known as one of the influential members of Les Tambours de Brazza (1996-2013) and for his collaborations with artists such as Zap Mama (2004), Didier Awadi (2012-2013) or Manou Gallo, Ray Lema, Manu Dibango, Lokua Kanza, or Zao, Badi, Boddhi Satva, Krotal, Teddy Benzo, Fredy Massamba made a name for himself on the music scene with 'Ethnophony', a first solo album at the Kora Awards 2012 in Abidjan, in the category Best Male Artist Central Africa.
