Récital virtuose pour basson et trio

Description

The works brought together on this album share several characteristics, the most obvious being the instrumental lineup (a relatively rare combination of bassoon and string trio). However, a striking trait they have in common is the fate of their composers: all enjoyed great renown in their lifetime before falling into relative obscurity. Their names once rivaled those of Haydn, Mozart, or Beethoven, but for more than a century after their deaths, their legacy left little trace. It is only recently that these figures and their works have begun to be appreciated at their true value.
