It's Halloween night 1977: Frank Zappa takes the stage at New York's Palladium club to celebrate the planned release of the quadruple album "Lather." However, the record label decided at the last minute not to distribute it. To hear what had now become one of the great mysterious objects in rock history in its complete form - as Zappa had conceived it - one would have to wait until 1996, when Rykodisc released it as a triple compact disc.
