Vinyl reissue: This album is considered by critics to be one of Frank Zappa's best albums, a true masterpiece that showcases the extent of his musical genius. A genuine rock opera divided into three acts, this album was recorded in 1979. In this album, Zappa aimed to create a retrospective of the musical genres of the 1970s, Zappa-style of course. Thus, on this double album, we find a three-chord rock ballad (Joe's Garage), reggae (Lucille has Messed my Mind Up and Sy Borg), disco (Stick it Out), gospel (Dong Work for Yuda), funk (Keep It Greasy), and a lot of pop/rock/rhythm and blues (especially in the first act). Zappa seems to transition from one genre to another in this album with the same ease of writing and composition.
