Reine de cœur

Description

In her debut with Pentatone, soprano Hanna-Elisabeth Müller brings together the traditions of German and French art song by focusing on the song cycles of Robert Schumann, Alexander Zemlinsky, and Francis Poulenc, accompanied by pianist Juliane Ruf. The album presents a very personal anthology of songs that explore love and loss, as well as the heights and depths of the human soul. While Schumann's pieces offer the quintessence of German romantic lied, Zemlinsky's work from the turn of the century introduces the listener to a later and lesser-known chapter in the history of the genre. Finally, Poulenc's pieces provide an atmospheric and sometimes humorous complement. Hanna-Elisabeth Müller is among the most renowned young sopranos of our time. Reine de Coeur is the first album of her exclusive collaboration with Pentatone. She works with her regular accompanist, pianist Juliane Ruf.
