With their new album Hang, the California duo offers us their grand vision of American popular music: eight tracks with a classic pop feel and sophisticated arrangements performed by a symphonic orchestra. Steven Drozd (The Flaming Lips), The Lemon Twigs, and Matthew E. White also contributed to the recording. FOXYGEN, the duo formed by Sam France and Jonathan Rado, is back with a new album, Hang. With this first release since 2014 – and the album ‘…And Star Power’ – the Los Angeles duo once again proves their supernatural talent for blending a multitude of influences within a single elaborate, uncompromising composition, as seen in the first single ‘America’. And this time, FOXYGEN has truly created a big band! Each track on ‘Hang’ is arranged and conducted by Trey Pollard, and re-arranged by Matthew E. White. ‘Hang’ was recorded with the rhythm section of brothers Brian and Michael D’Addario, also known as Lemon Twigs, and features Steven Drozd from The Flaming Lips on some tracks. Entirely written and produced by Foxygen, ‘Hang’ was recorded solely on analog equipment at Electro Vox studios in Los Angeles.
