Foxwarren

Description

Foxwarren, the side project of songwriter Andy Shauf: a new introspective folk gem! The story of Foxwarren reads like a torn page from the manual of authentic rock 'n' roll. They are brothers, sisters, and childhood friends who formed a band in college. They then lived together as roommates and recorded an album in the basement of a rented house. Even the band's name comes from the family home of brothers Avery and Darryl Kissick. The band's beginnings are subtle and thoughtful. They lean towards the solo work of singer Andy Shauf, while relying on collaboration and looseness, rather than Shauf's meticulous arrangements. Where Shauf leaves space for orchestration, Foxwarren takes the time to ruminate on passages and themes. Accompanied by warm rhythms and a familiar voice, colored with soft electronics and rough guitars, it is ultimately a record that rests on sincerity. It captures the feeling of friends pushing each other, a band seeking inner inspiration rather than external influence. It is a record whose conception has lasted for years and has almost never seen the light of day.
