Description

After Magnésie (2017) and Higlines (2020), Foehn releases their third album, Elements. This album is an opportunity for the band to continue and refine the shift towards electronic sounds initiated on Highlines, with an increasingly sharp and powerful sound. Recorded at the Maison des Artistes studio in Chamonix, this album features a blend of ethereal layers and hybrid timbres between the acoustic sound of a grand piano and double bass and the electronic sound of the Prophet or Model D. Inspired as much by current electronic music as by jazz, the trio emphasizes the importance of live performance. The drums are treated with heavy reverb and delay directly during recording, integrating these effects into the band's composition process. The inspirations are primarily drawn from the natural "elements" that make up the Earth's landscape. The trio delivers a deep soundscape in which the listener is invited to let themselves drift into reverie.
