Composed, according to Flying Lotus, as "a collage of mystical states, dreams, sleep and lullabies", Until The Quiet Comes conveys the emotions of a nocturnal, urban, spatial journey. The encounter between its heavy cosmic basslines and digital arrangements has never been as fused as on this album, demonstrating FlyLo's exponential growth as a producer and composer. Long-time muses Niki Randa and Laura Darlington both return, bringing their vocal grace to the controlled and magnificent chaos of Flying Lotus's productions. Thom Yorke also contributes with a sublime feature on the electro-free-jazz track 'Electric Candyman', while Thundercat, who contributes powerful basslines throughout the album, actively collaborates on 'DMT Song' to a new psychedelic soul anthem. The inimitable queen of underground R&B Erykah Badu returns a favor (FlyLo had directed the video for her single Gone Baby, Don't Be Long) and delivers a delightful performance on the epic 'See Thru to U', one of the many highlights of the album, surely a future classic.
