About Time

«About Time» is the first album with string orchestra by pianist-composer Florian Christl. His melodic and atmospheric compositions are inspired by his reflections on human perception of time and the beauty that lies in the awareness of the impermanence of life. «The music of the album reflects my search for the present moment. I believe that by focusing on the present moment, we can become aware of the inevitable transience and ephemeral nature of life and begin to appreciate the fragile beauty of this transience,» explains Florian Christl. «About Time» is a poetic musical experience where the great moments of emotion highlighted by the strings and the orchestra contrast with intimate calm moments depicted in miniatures for piano. For the recording of «About Time», Florian Christl collaborated with the NDR Radio Philharmonic Orchestra and conductor Ben Palmer. The violinist Nicklas Liepe is also featured.
