The simple words describe the power of human emotions and the grandeur of Nature: Schubert's imagination was tested by all the possibilities offered by the text and his music wonderfully depicts the dramatic conflicts that animate the characters whose words paint the portrait. Florian Boesch's interpretation conveys this deep emotionality and gives this score the dramatic strength he had already expressed with talent in his version of "Winterreise," which had already been admirably received by critics.
