Description

Flore Laurentienne is the result of a happy marriage between electronic music and classical-influenced music. The project is dedicated to constantly pushing the boundaries between different musical genres such as ambient, experimental music, and progressive rock. In 2023, he composed the music for a podcast about Jean-Paul Riopelle, “Dépeindre Riopelle,” for Radio-Canada. The result is the album 8 tableaux – inspired by the paintings of the Canadian artist. With this album, Flore Laurentienne attempts to give a musical form to a painting. Music is an art that unfolds over time. Painting is a snapshot at a specific moment in the creative flow of the painter. So how can these two forms of art be combined? How can time be stopped in music?
