The songwriting talent of these two Englishwomen is not new. Michael Jackson, the Roots, Bilal, or Eric Benet: many, and not the most obscure, have called upon their services. Continuing their journey, Natalie Stewart and Marsha Ambrosius settled in Philadelphia. A choice that is not innocent. "Floetic," their first album, is a pure nu-soul product. Laid-back grooves, subtle references to hip-hop, sophisticated soul, and poetic lyrics strongly tinged with spirituality: it has every ingredient of the genre. However, the two musicians stand out for their sobriety. Bathed in a sensual naturalness, this record has been praised with several Grammy Award nominations.
