Eight tracks that blend the melancholy of Laurel Canyon folk, the glamorous shadow of Hollywood, and a contemporary darkness inherited from sadcore and hip-hop. Elias Dris summons his ghosts, Marilyn Monroe, Jeff Buckley, David Lynch, and seeks a form of raw truth. This is not a tribute. It is a lineage. Artists touched by something greater than themselves. Pearl was born from this same burning. At the heart of the record, Los Angeles. A place of fascination and loss, of learning and creative impulse. Between the dream of counterculture, the anger of an artist, and the desire for freedom. Produced entirely independently, the album has been shaped with a rare level of rigor. Kieron Menzies is responsible for the mixing, having worked with Lana Del Rey and Lykke Li. The mastering is handled by Dominique Blanc-Francard, who needs no introduction, and Adam Ayan. Pearl is the record where Elias asserts his vision.
