The fascinating journey of pianist Ferenc Vizi into the world of LisztFrom Dawn to Dusk is the second Paraty album by Ferenc Vizi, entirely devoted to Franz Liszt. Conceived as an arc of the day, it opens with Wiegenlied, S.198 and ends with En rêve, S.207 (1885). At the center, the Sonata in B minor, S.178 traces a path of shadow and light, while the Seven Brilliant Variations on a Theme by Rossini, S.149 / R.28 dialogue with the Grand galop chromatique, S.219. Also featured are L'Idée fixe, S.395: Andante amoroso after a melody by Berlioz, Au bord d'une source (Années de pèlerinage I, S.160), and Harmonies poétiques et religieuses I, S.154 (1834). Inspired by Tagore, this journey invites us to hear the thematic metamorphosis in Liszt and the dramatic tension that connects lullaby, variations, sonata, and nocturne.
