Description

FANALO, guitarist and French artist living in Bordeaux, works in a Hard Progressive Rock style.
Professional musician active since the mid-90s, he is mainly known for having been one of the 2 members of the instrumental metal band PLUG-IN. This band notably released the album "HIJACK" (2010), on which many international guitar heroes such as Andy Timmons, Bumblefoot, Mattias Eklundh, Sylvain Coudret (Soilwork), Patrick Rondat, Christophe Godin, Jean Fontanille... took part. At the same time, he is also known for having been Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal's sideman guitarist from 2002 to 2007 for his solo project, before the latter joined GUNS'N'ROSES.
After dedicating himself to his many teaching activities (he is notably director of CIAM, one of the most renowned training centers for musicians in France), but also after spending several years participating in tribute bands dedicated to IRON MAIDEN or VAN HALEN, FANALO is now returning to creation by releasing his first solo album. The novelty of this opus lies in the presence of 7 sung tracks performed with 4 different singers, including the renowned Jeff Scott Soto (Yngwie Malmsteen, Journey, Sons of Apollo…). If one recognizes Fanalo's touch throughout these tracks, one can see that the aesthetics go beyond the usual framework of Hard Rock, moving between electro, gospel, pop, prog metal, punk…
Beyond the singers, he also invited other friends to take part in this album such as guitarists Bumblefoot and Julien Lacharme (Alpha Blondy, Gno...), Electro artist Volkor X on keyboards, and orchestrator/arranger Manu Martin (Patrick Rondat…). It is therefore a journey into his universe and influences that Fanalo offers in this 10-track album rich in colors.
Last anecdote: according to a rumor circulating for almost 15 years, FANALO would in fact be the guitarist BUCKETHEAD. This curious rumor has fueled many videos and articles on the internet, some of which have been viewed nearly 2 million times.
