Loma vista

Description

Originally from Los Angeles, the members of Family Of The Year have forged unbreakable bonds by living together in a dilapidated house and relying on one another for inspiration and support. Having toured with Mumford & Sons, Gomez, The Antlers, and Ben Folds, among others, they return with “Loma Vista.” Unsurprisingly, many songs by this very close-knit band are sung in multiple voices, and many feature joyful collective handclaps, as well as the participation of Will Mason on one track. Some even give the impression that they should be sung around a campfire while the wine flows freely. Enchanting choruses, relentless rhythms, melodies gracefully fluttering a few feet off the ground—in short, the classic foundation of a good record in the genre. Except that with this band, all the ingredients are whipped together with immense energy and sprinkled with a terribly infectious joie de vivre.
