Vivaldi eternal and l'Europa Galante celebrates its 30th anniversary! The violinist Fabio Biondi has a unique insight to discover always new and surprising facets of Vivaldi: this is what he demonstrates with these Concerti per La Pietà. It features a selection of concertos reserved for high-level soloists, coming here from his ensemble l'Europa Galante. Vivaldi composed them for his students forming one of the most astonishing orchestras in the entire history of music, that of the Ospedale della Pietà, one of the Venetian hospices that took in, cared for, and educated abandoned orphans. All the works recorded here were composed during the 30 years that Vivaldi worked at the Pietà and include concertos for violin and two violins, lute, cello, organ, and viola d'amore.
